In the photos and videos the Stompers contributed, thick black smoke can be seen rising from the international school building, which is located at 17 Punggol Field Walk.

Stomper Heng Hock told Stomp that he was inspecting a building in the area when he saw the fire. He added that a portion of the building was on fire and that personnel from the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) and police were at the scene.

According to a post on the SCDF Facebook page, two workers were stranded on a gondola lift during the fire. The Straits Times reported that electricity was cut off to the lift after the fire broke out.

In a photo contributed by a Stomper, an SCDF rescuer can be seen rappelling down a building to get to the stranded men. They were subsequently brought to safety and were conveyed to Changi General Hospital for smoke inhalation, said the post, adding that SCDF personnel were at the scene battling the fire, which engulfed an area of around 30m by 50m, with four water jets.

In an update at 6.32pm, SCDF said that the fire was under control and they were conducting damping down operations to prevent any potential rekindling of the fire.
