A Stomper is appealing for help for an elderly woman often seen struggling to walk near Jurong Point.

Stomper Alicia said she has come across the woman several times over the past year, most recently at NTUC FairPrice, where the senior appeared to be alone and having difficulty walking.

She also sent a video taken on Jan 8 at about 4.19pm, showing the woman crossing a zebra crossing with the help of a passer-by. The elderly woman appears to be in pain and struggles to walk on her own.

"The old lady struggles to walk to Jurong Point to buy food every day," said the Stomper.

"Sometimes she gets help from strangers, but most of the time she struggles to walk on her own.

"I helped her a few times. She told me she lives with her son, who doesn't care about her. She needs to go out to buy food every day and doesn't remember her address."

Alicia added that the woman seems to be in a lot of pain when walking and may take several hours to make the trip from her home to Jurong Point.

"She told me she has to cross two roads to get there. She looks very frail and may fall at any time," she said.

According to the Stomper, the woman once went without food for days.

"Once she told me that she couldn't go out to buy food for a couple of days due to heavy rain and she starved. This old lady desperately needs help," said Alicia.

When asked why she decided to reach out now, Alicia explained that she had always felt sorry for the woman but did not know how to help her.

"I came across Stomp while surfing the Internet and thought that publishing her story here may help," she said.

"I am hoping that if her situation is publicised, then maybe some people can help her."
