Same man caught on CCTV taking other people's potted plants in Hougang? 'Zoom in on the slippers'
Was it him again?
A man was caught on camera taking someone else's potted plants in Hougang on Feb 11.
CCTV footage of the incident was posted online the next day by TikTok user rchelcxy, who described the man as a "serial plant thief".
She wrote in the description: "My mum’s two pots of orchids went missing yesterday and my neighbour’s orchid went missing today, but we caught him in full HD action. MY MOTHER IS DEVASTATED ABOUT HER STOLEN ORCHIDS.
"Anyway stealing TWICE in 24 hours at the SAME location is crazy. A police report has been filed but Hougang-er, please keep your nice plants at home bah."
Stomp was alerted to the video by Stomper Felicia after she read Stomp's report about a man caught on CCTV taking potted plants at Block 427 Hougang Avenue 6 on Feb 5.
"This happened to me and my neighbour too. It's the same guy," said the Stomper.
"You notice the look was a bit different, but they are exactly the same guy. Notice the same kind of shorts and white slippers if you zoom in.
"Just a different T-shirt. Zoom in the slippers."
The Stomper made a police report on Feb 10.
In response to a Stomp query, the police confirmed that a report was lodged, adding that investigations are ongoing.
