A motorcyclist's failed attempt at a stunt ended in a painful fall.

Stomper Randy alerted Stomp to a video of the incident posted on My Grandfather's Road's Facebook page on July 6.

The caption reads: "Young punks looking for thrills."

In the video, a motorcyclist is seen stopped in the middle of an empty road, presumably late at night, with a pillion rider seated behind him.

He revs the engine before attempting a "wheelie" - a stunt which involves lifting the front wheel off the ground while controlling the bike's balance and movement on its rear wheel.

But the stunt doesn't go as planned, and both riders fall off the bike.

The motorcycle's tail box smashes against the ground, breaking off the vehicle.

As the stunt goes downhill, the cameraman can be heard exclaiming, "Ey!"

The pillion rider falls onto the road - hard.

The motorcyclist also falls off but manages to stay on his feet as his motorcycle maintains balance on its back wheel, and continues to move forward on its own.

The video ends as the rider chases after the rogue bike.

Some netizens found the post nostalgic, recounting their experiences with motorcycles.

A user commented: "I was like this before, having fun with friends."

Another shared a funny memory: "I remember many years ago I was on a bus, and a motorbike came up next to the bus. The lady pillion rider looked at me with a smug look on her face.

"Next thing I knew, when the light turned green, she fell off the bike just like in the video above. I couldn't stop laughing. 😂😂"

Others criticise the men, saying they "deserved" the failed attempt, calling them "stupid."

"Well deserved," a Facebook user wrote.

Another commented: "There's no cure for stupidity."
