Water gushing out of a pipe damaged during lift retrofitting works at the pedestrian overhead bridge flooded Still Road South and the surrounding HDB blocks on Oct 4.

Several Stompers shared photos and videos of the flooding on Children's Day.

Marine Parade GRC MP Tan See Leng said on Facebook that the 300mm-diameter pipe was damaged at around 11.40am.

National water agency PUB said on Facebook that it immediately deployed a service crew onsite to isolate the leak and repair the damaged pipe.

"To facilitate repairs, one of the four lanes at Still Road South towards Eunos Link has been temporarily closed. As of 3.30 pm, three of the four lanes along Still Road South towards Eunos Link are passable to traffic," said PUB.

Dr Tan updated at 4.53pm that road access had resumed.

"Many thanks to PUB, Marine Parade Town Council, and the dedicated workers for clearing the area swiftly, just in time for peak hour traffic," said the MP.

There was no disruption of water supply to nearby residential units.

But a lift at Block 67 Marine Drive was not working as the lift pit was flooded and damaged.

PUB said it will investigate further and will follow up with enforcement action.
