A Tada driver called the police after a man vomitted in her car and refused to pay for the clean-up.

Stomper Vans had picked up the passenger at Forum The Shopping Mall at Orchard Road on May 31 at 1.52am. The drop-off was at Edgefield Plains in Punggol.

She shared photos of vomit on the floor mat of her vehicle as well as the man sitting on a bench in the Housing Board estate.

He appeared to be puking into a Mustafa Centre plastic bag he was holding.

The Stomper had her car cleaned at a Caltex station at MacPhersen Road on the same day. It cost her $70, which was more than double the $25.80 she made from the booking.

On June 5, the Stomper made a police report, seen by Stomp.

The report said: "Passenger was drunk and vomited in my car and refused to pay for the cleaning fees. I called the police on the spot and two policemen attended to the case, but they were unable to ask him to make the payment as well...

"Tada advised me to make a police report so that they can reimburse me for the cleaning fees."

The Stomper shared a screenshot of the email she received from Tada on June 9.

The email said: "Thank you for providing your police report.

"We understand that the passenger remains unresponsive despite the best efforts of Tada to recover the amount for the cleaning fee.

"However, in view of your support towards our platform, we would, on a goodwill basis, reimburse 50 per cent of the cleaning fee to you."

The driver told Stomp: "Police report made, but Tada can only reimburse 50 per cent of the cleaning fees."

According to the Tada Driver-Partners Community Guidelines, there is a policy for cleaning charges.

The policy states: "Riders are subjected to a fee of $70 (payable to drivers) in the event that a permanent/semi-permanent stain/odour is left in the car (eg vomiting) that requires professional cleaning to remove.

"In such situations, drivers may add $70 to the fare, under 'Additional Stop or Others' at the end of the trip.

"In the event that riders could not make payment for the additional $70 on the spot, please arrange to collect from them within 48 hours in a payment method that you are comfortable with.

"A cleaning receipt must be furnished to the rider after professional cleaning is done. If a settlement with the rider is not possible after 48 hours, please report the case by submitting a cleaning receipt to Tada.

"Tada will represent the driver to the best of our ability in retrieving payment from the rider by immediately contacting the rider.

"Rider will not be able to book another Tada ride until the payment is made."
