The Singapore Food Agency (SFA) has suspended the operations of Hup Huat Noodles in Jurong with effect from Dec 4 until further notice

The company manufactures products such as Sun Brand egg flour vermicelli.

During an inspection at the Chin Bee Drive premises on the day by SFA, non-compliances such as severe cockroach infestation as well as poor housekeeping and maintenance, including dirty floors and food processing equipment, were found.

SFA has directed the licensee to rectify the lapses and take necessary measures to improve food safety practices and ensure the cleanliness of its premises.

All food operators should ensure that their premises are clean and well-maintained, and staff are adequately trained on food safety management, said the agency.

Offenders are liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $5,000 for each offence.

Hup Huat Noodles plans to complete the building of a new factory at Wan Lee Road, also in Jurong, by mid-2025.
