A 29-year-old female passenger was taken to hospital after the car she was in veered off course and crashed into a concrete barrier at the East Coast Parkway (ECP) exit towards Rochor Road.

The 59-year-old male car driver is assisting with police investigations.

The police told Stomp that they were alerted to the accident on Jan 27 at about 11.15am.

The car is believed to have 'self-skidded'.

Stomper Lau Lau alerted Stomp to a video of the incident that had been posted on SG Road Vigilante's Facebook page.

In the video, the car is unable to keep in the right-most lane and ends up slamming into the concrete barrier on the side of the expressway exit.

Facebook users, including other PHV drivers, have been speculating over what might have caused the crash.

While some suggested the driver may have nodded off while driving due to 'after-lunch syndrome', most netizens said the driver may have been distracted because he was using his phone.
