A 26-year-old male motorcyclist was arrested for allegedly driving without a valid licence, after he got into an accident with a taxi on Oct 9.

The police and Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) were alerted at 7.35pm to the accident, which happened at the intersection of Hougang Avenue 8 and Hougang Avenue 6.

The male motorcyclist was arrested at the scene. He was later taken conscious to Changi General Hospital, said SCDF.

In a photo taken by a Straits Times reader at 8.15pm, a blue ComfortDelGro taxi can be seen just before a slip road, with its bumper knocked off.

A motorcycle helmet sits on a road divider, just metres away from a black backpack. A police car and ambulance are also observed at the scene.

Investigations are ongoing.
