A man was caught littering by National Environment Agency (NEA) enforcement officers near Chinatown, but he denied the accusation.

Stomper Simon shared a video of the incident that took place on March 26.

He said: "I took the video because i some commotion there. I didn't see what happened prior about the littering."

Stomper Ed alerted Stomp to the video posted online by Sgfollowsall.

In the video, two NEA officers can be heard telling the man that he threw a cigarette butt onto the ground, which was a littering offence.

The man replied: "Since when?"

He asked the officers to produce a witness and said he could get his friend to be a witness.

When the officers told him what they saw he did, the man said: "I don't think so."

He then waved them off dismissively and walked away as one of the officers said: "Sir, please cooperate with us."

The officers followed and tried to stop him, resulting in the man bumping into one of the officers.

"What are trying to do now?" asked the man.

The officer said: "You're pushing me."

"I'm not pushing you," said the man as he continued walking. "You're getting in my way."

The officers continued following the man for some distance until he turned around and confronted them.

"Show me the evidence that I throw," he demanded.

One of the officers was speaking on the phone as the 109-second video ends.

In response to a Stomp query, NEA said it is aware of the video of the incident that took place in the vicinity of 150 South Bridge Road.

"Our enforcement officers had witnessed the subject littering a cigarette butt on a grass patch and proceeded to engage the subject by identifying themselves and informing him of the offence he had committed," said the agency.

"NEA has since charged the subject for the littering offence."
