Man allegedly tries to hit woman with baton, assaults cop with baseball bat and throws mug at him
A man allegedly tried to hit a woman with a baton, then assaulted a police officer with a baseball bat and threw a mug at him.
The police had received a call for assistance in the vicinity of Block 81 Whampoa Drive on Feb 15 at about 7.35pm.
People witnessed a man attempting to hit a woman with a baton, but he fled before the arrival of the police.

Through follow-up investigations, officers from Tanglin Police Division established the identity and location of the 41-year-old man.
When confronted by the police officers, the man refused to cooperate and turned aggressive. During the arrest, he allegedly assaulted one officer with a baseball bat and threw a mug at him.
A 49-year-old officer sustained injuries to his head and wrist, and was subsequently discharged with two days of medical leave.
The suspect was to be charged in court on Feb 17 with attempted voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons and voluntarily causing hurt to deter a public servant from the discharge of his duty.
In addition, the man is under investigation for criminal intimidation, causing hurt by an act that endangers the personal safety of others and intentionally causing harassment.
The offence of attempted voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons is punishable with an imprisonment term of up to seven years, a fine, caning or any combination.
The offence of voluntarily causing hurt to deter a public servant from the discharge of his duty is punishable with an imprisonment term of up to seven years and a fine or caning.
