Man, 32, allegedly molested woman, 42, arrested within 15 min of her calling police
A 32-year-old man was arrested for allegedly molesting a 42-year-old woman along Gerald Drive in Hougang on April 13.
The police said they were alerted to the case at about 8.40am.
Through follow-up investigations and images from police cameras, officers from Ang Mo Kio Police Division established the man's identity and arrested him within 15 minutes of the call.
The man will be charged in court on April 15 with the offence of outrage of modesty, which carries a jail term of up to three years, a fine, caning, or any combination of such punishments.
The police said they have zero tolerance towards sexual offenders who threaten the personal safety of those in the community. Offenders will be dealt with sternly, in accordance with the law.
Members of the public are also encouraged to remain vigilant and report the matter to the police immediately.
"This includes when they witness an incident of molestation or are aware of someone being a victim of molestation," the police added.
