A lucky Malaysian fan recently had an unexpected encounter with veteran actor Xie Shaoguang while taking the MRT in Singapore.

Sharing her excitement in a Facebook post on March 30, she recounted how the 63-year-old actor graciously agreed to take a photo with her without any airs.

"I met Xie Shaoguang when I was taking the Singapore MRT," she wrote in Chinese.

"He was willing to take a photo with me without any airs. At 63 years old, he still looks very well maintained."

Her post quickly gained traction, with many netizens echoing her admiration for the reclusive actor.

Once a household name in Singapore's entertainment scene, Xie Shaoguang is known for his award-winning performances in television dramas before stepping away from the limelight in 2005.

Fans were delighted to see recent photos of him, with some expressing their fondness for the actor. "He's very good and low profile," one commenter wrote, while others praised his youthful appearance, noting that he looks younger than his actual age.

"He is obviously Shaoguang's son," one playful netizen joked, referring to his youthful features.

Another simply remarked, "Nice skin."

When he retired from acting after his contract ended in 2005, Xie undertook various ventures, including setting up an animal sanctuary and becoming a chef and a monk.

News of Xie Shaoguang's comeback to the local entertainment scene last year was met with excitement from both his fans and other stars.
