Lorry runs red light at Beach Road junction as pedestrians are crossing, police investigating

A lorry was seen running a red light at the junction of Beach Road and Jalan Sultan on July 14.

Stomper Ben shared dashcam footage of the incident that happened at about 2pm.

"The driver of the lorry exhibited reckless behaviour, running a red light and endangering both my life and the lives of pedestrians."

The video shows the lorry taking the Stomper by surprise and running through the crossing as pedestrians are crossing, including an elderly woman riding a personal mobility aid.

"The combination of the wet road conditions and my moderate speed averted a potentially devastating collision," he added. "A police report has been filed."

In response to a Stomp query, the police confirmed that a report was lodged and investigations are ongoing.
