Lazada shopper orders $299 Canon camera, gets 'unusually small' parcel that left him shocked
A Lazada shopper was very disappointed to receive a phone stand after buying a Canon camera.
On May 16, Stomper Selvarajah bought a Canon IXUS 285 HS Digital Camera on Lazada for $299.40.
"I had been tracking the order from day one, and the parcel was delivered on May 24," the shopper said.
"My son received the parcel as scheduled, but I instructed him not to open it until I returned home.
"Upon my return, I was shocked to see that the parcel was unusually small and clearly could not contain a digital camera."
However, the package contained a phone stand in a crumpled box instead of the camera.
"Upon closer inspection, I noticed the parcel had already been opened and resealed, with the open side hidden taped along the side to avoid detection."
Selvarajah believed the order might have been tampered with and contacted the seller on Lazada, but there was no response.
He told Stomp: "I am concerned about the lack of accountability. I initiated a return request through Lazada and received an SMS confirmation.
"However, I am still figuring out the correct return process and appreciate any assistance in resolving this matter swiftly."
