On Feb 3, hawker Chen Yiming went to Loyang Tua Pek Kong to watch a lion dance performance.

The 63-year-old saw lottery tickets on the temple floor and picked them up.

One of the tickets turned out to contain the winning 4D numbers on Feb 9 - 3388.

"I also buy 4D lottery," Ms Chen told Shin Min Daily News.

"I recognised the set of 'beautiful' numbers which had won the first prize a few days ago.

"I had noticed the ticket had numbers for a future draw, that's why I had paid close attention to it."

Instead of cashing out the winning ticket, Ms Chen handed it over to Sengkang Neighbourhood Police Centre and relayed the incident to the Chinese daily in the hopes of finding the rightful owner to the ticket.

"$10,000 is not a small sum of money," she explained.

"The ticket owner must be very anxious. I hope the owner would go claim it."

When asked if she had ever thought of keeping the money for herself, Ms Chen said: "What's mine is mine, and I don't want money that's not mine."
