A truck caught fire on the Bukit Timah Expressway (BKE) on the morning of Nov 1.

Stomper AIA shared a video of the burning vehicle stopped on the shoulder of the expressway at 10.20am.

Cars can be seen slowing down as they approached the fire.

A dashcam video of the incident taken from another car was also posted online.

A witness commented online: "The other side (of the expressway) also got jam but no accident at all. All slowed down to see the garbage truck on fire."

In response to a Stomp query, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it was alerted to the fire along BKE towards Woodlands near Bukit Panjang Road exit at about 10.15am.

The fire involved the cabin compartment of a truck and was extinguished by SCDF using a hosereel.

There were no reported injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

A day earlier, a man died after his car caught fire on the Tampines Expressway.
