Fake social media account impersonates cancer-battling Kim Woo-bin
A photo of Korean actor Kim Woo-bin was uploaded to an Instagram account falsely claiming to belong to him on June 25.
Sidus HQ, Kim’s management agency, said yesterday (June 26) that the account does not belong to the 27-year-old star.
A representative said in a statement, "Kim does not have any social media accounts", adding that the photo in question was "taken long ago."
"We have expressed numerous times that the account does not belong to Kim, yet news reports keep popping up. We will deal with the account."
According to The Korea Herald, the account has sparked outrage among Kim's fans.
The model-turned-actor was diagnosed with nasopharyngeal cancer, a rare type of head and neck cancer, in May.
He has halted all filming activities and is concentrating on treatment.
