# Driver leaves car halfway out of Clementi lot ‘like he owns the carpark’, returns 10 min later after bakery visit

A driver in Clementi left his car parked only halfway inside a parking lot while he reportedly visited a nearby bakery, drawing criticism from a witness.

Stomper Dalwin spotted the white Toyota at the open-air carpark at Block 109 Clementi Street 11 at about 11.07am on Oct 29.

## Driver reportedly ignores Stomper who calls out to him

Although the parking lot was empty, the car had been left halfway into the space, with its front half protruding beyond the lot markings.

“I saw him (the driver) leaving, and I called out to him, but he ignored me,” claimed the Stomper.

According to Dalwin, the driver headed to a bakery nearby and reappeared about 10 minutes later, after which he got into the car and drove off.

Although the driver had parked for a relatively short while, Dalwin was still unhappy about what he considered to be “inconsiderate parking”.

He told Stomp: “That’s not the way to behave, like he owns the carpark. He should properly reverse back more. He must be considerate.”

The Stomper said he contacted the carpark service provider and was advised to submit a report through an app. However, he decided against doing so and went straight to Stomp instead.

“I hope the driver will receive a notice,” he added.

According to the Housing & Development Board (HDB), parking beyond the boundaries of the parking lot and causing obstruction can result in a $70 fine for cars.

Members of the public can report parking offences through the OneService app or the Parking Enforcement Hotline at 1800-338-6622.
