Driver chases down lorry that damaged parked Audi after its rear doors swung open in Jalan Besar
After witnessing a Malaysia-registered lorry driver damage a parked Audi, a man was determined to hold the lorry driver accountable.
Stomper Alvin shared that he was driving past the junction of Townshend Road and Syed Alwi Road at 10.40pm on May 15.
Suddenly, as shown in Alvin's video footage, the rear doors of the lorry ahead swung open in front of him.
"The driver forgot to lock the back door," he said.
"The left-side of the back door swung out and hit a white Audi car parked on the left side of the road. It was badly scratched and dented."
The lorry driver continued driving after the incident, prompting Alvin to give chase.
"I chased after the lorry, trying to stop it, honking and blinking my lights, but the driver drove off quickly towards the Hotel Boss carpark," Alvin recalled.
"I was considering following it up, but I was worried about the safety of my wife and myself, as the confrontation might become violent."
Instead, Alvin placed a note under the windshield wiper of the Audi.
"I wrote a note, but I have not received a response yet, so I just reported it to Stomp," he said.
"My main concern is the swinging back door. If it had hit a pedestrian who was walking along the road or waiting to cross the road, it might have caused a fatal injury."
