Diner disappointed with 'miserable' portion of black chicken in ginseng soup from Parkway Parade Kopitiam
A diner was left disappointed by what he described as a 'miserable' portion of meat in a bowl of ginseng black chicken soup at Parkway Parade.
Stomper Thomas said he ordered the dish from a traditional soup stall named Pepper Soup at the newly opened Kopitiam food court on June 23 at 6.20pm.
However, he was shocked at what he received.
"It was nothing like the picture on the signboard," he said.
He paid $8.50 for the dish.
"All I got was a scrawny piece of black chicken wing and some ribs with hardly any meat," he shared.
"Oddly, there was even a piece of white chicken inside, although I had ordered black chicken soup."
Thomas subsequently questioned the stall operator about "why the black chicken was such a miserable small piece and why there was white chicken in the soup".
"He looked uncomfortable and quickly tried to explain that the portion of black chicken was what came with the price," said the Stomper.
"He said he added the white chicken out of concern that I might not have enough to eat.
"Wow, how considerate."
The stallholder also claimed the portioning was in line with company policy, Thomas added.
Calling the experience 'totally dishonest', the Stomper said he hopes the food court's management will take action.
"I'm highlighting this so other customers don't get cheated. I hope Kopitiam takes note and weeds out stalls like this to avoid damaging their reputation."
