Certis CISCO officer accidentally fires weapon in restricted area outside of Changi Airport perimeter fence

A Certis CISCO officer accidentally discharged a firearm in a restricted staff-only rest area situated outside Changi Airport's perimeter fence today (Sep 15) at 5.45am.

In response to a Stomp query, a spokesman for Certis CISCO said that the incident happened away from passenger terminals, in an area that is not accessible to the public.

No one was injured.

Said the Certis CISCO spokesman:

"Certis CISCO confirms the incident of an accidental discharge of firearm involving an auxiliary police officer this morning at 5.45 am.

"The incident occurred at a restricted staff-only rest area situated outside of Changi Airport perimeter fence and away from the passenger terminals. 

"No one was hurt.  

"Certis CISCO is assisting police in their investigations."

When contacted, a police spokesman told Stomp that they were alerted to the incident at 6.09am and police investigations are ongoing.
