Car driver, 26, arrested after accident with van at Jalan Bukit Merah
A 26-year-old man was arrested after an accident involving the car he was driving and a van in Jalan Bukit Merah on April 17.
The police told Stomp they were alerted to the incident at about 5.30pm.
“A 26-year-old male car driver was arrested for driving without a valid licence,” a police spokesperson said.
Stomper Tan, who witnessed the aftermath, described the scene as “quite confusing”.
Photos he shared show a black-and-white sedan with its bumper dislodged and lying on the road, while a silver van involved in the crash appeared to have come to a stop facing the opposite direction.
“The sedan had severe front-end damage and there were long skid or drag marks on the road that continued past the car,” the Stomper said. “The driver appeared unsteady and was later attended to by paramedics before being taken away in a police vehicle.
He added that several people stopped to look as the scene appeared “unusual”.
Police investigations are ongoing.
