Not again.

A boy wearing Crocs-like footwear got his left foot stuck in an escalator at Jurong Point on July 14 evening.

Videos and photos online show rescuers from the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) at the scene amid the Sunday shopping crowd.

While the escalator where the boy was stuck was shut down, the other three escalators next to it were still operating with people continuing to go up and down beside him. It was only later when all the escalators were shut down for the rescue.

A Redditor posted a photo of a blue and yellow Crocs-like sandal jammed into the side of the escalator steps and said it took SCDF around 40 minutes to free the boy.

In response to a Stomp query, SCDF said it received a call for assistance at 1 Jurong West Central 2 at about 7.45pm.

SCDF added that it freed the boy using rescue equipment and took him to National University Hospital.
