24 cans of beer at once? Stomper, town council inform SPF about late-night merrymaking at Senja Road
It is not uncommon to see people gathering at Block 607 Senja Road to chat and drink during wee hours of the night, said a resident.
But even the Dec 15 sight of 24 empty beer cans left behind is too much for him.
Stomper Steven said a group of men often gather at the open space in front of the Residents' Committee centre late at night and "littering is common".
He added: "They usually sit around drinking and chatting loudly, disturbing residents in their sleep. They also leave behind snacks wrappers, empty drink bottles and beer cans.
"But this really beats me: a whole carton of empty beer cans. It is too extreme and must have been a big gathering to finish 24 cans.
"I have made a police report. The void deck's big police CCTV camera is facing them!
"It is an offence to consume liquor in public after 10.30pm. I hope the authorities will act accordingly."
In response to a Stomp query, Holland-Bukit Panjang Town Council said it will be conducting thorough cleaning of the common areas to maintain cleanliness and hygiene.
It added: "We will also be putting up advisories/notices around the area to remind residents to bin their refuse and to keep their volume low."
The town council has also referred the case to the police for their assistance regarding the noise and consumption of alcohol after 10.30pm.
