17-year-old girl taken to hospital after being apprehended at Punggol block during wee hours

A teenage girl was apprehended by the police at a Punggol carpark building on June 10.

Stomper Amir spotted netting hanging from the side of a multi-storey carpark at Block 628 Edgedale Plains.

He shared photos and said: "If I'm not wrong, it was a teenager."

In response to a Stomp query, the police confirmed that they received a call for assistance at 2.15am.

A 17-year-old woman was apprehended under Section 7 of the Mental Health Care and Treatment Act 2008.

She was conscious when conveyed to the hospital.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force also confirmed that they received a call for assistance at 2.20am.

Upon arrival, a person was seen standing on a ledge.

Two safety life packs were deployed as a precautionary measure.

Nets were also deployed and Disaster Assistance and Rescue Team rescuers rappelled from the unit above to rescue the person.

SCDF conveyed the person to Sengkang General Hospital.
