17-year-old girl rescued from ledge of Punggol multi-storey carpark and apprehended

A 17-year-old girl was apprehended after being seen sitting on the ledge of a multi-storey carpark in Punggol on Jan 7.

A video circulating online shows the teenager being rescued and pulled back to safety by two males at Block 325 Sumang Walk.

In response to a Stomp query, the police said they received a call for assistance at around 11.45am and apprehended the teenager under Section 7 of the Mental Health (Care and Treatment).

The Singapore Civil Defence Force told Stomp that its assistance was not required.
