'11.11 packages everywhere': Serangoon void deck used as daily parcel-sorting space, says resident
A void deck at Block 422 Serangoon Central has allegedly been used as a parcel unloading and sorting point by several companies, leaving the area messy and unsightly, said a resident.
Stomper Anonymous said the situation has been ongoing for about a week. She claimed that two to three vans would arrive and unload "so much stuff", with workers allegedly throwing packages into huge piles before sorting them.
"Were they designated for my block? I don't think so," she said.
She added that the issue happens every day, even on weekends, and that "goods and packages are strewn everywhere," turning the void deck into an eyesore.
Photos she took on Nov 12 at about 2.35pm showed parcels spread across the void deck. She noted that the scene was "one of the better ones," as workers appeared to be sorting items from the 11.11 sale.
The Stomper said she tried calling the town council to report the matter, but her call was cut off when he was transferred to another desk. She added that the vans involved were unmarked and had no visible company logos.
Her feedback comes after similar concerns by Stomper Anonymous, who saw delivery parcels being sorted near a rubbish chute area at Block 416 Serangoon Central on Nov 7.
Stomp has contacted the town council for more info.
