Rear compartment of lorry catches fire along AYE
Stomper Michael was driving along Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE) towards Marina Coastal Expressway (MCE) at 11.08am on Aug 18 when he saw a lorry on fire.
Michael shared with Stomp a video that was taken by his friend who was also in his car when the incident took place.
Michael said: "The traffic was quite slow as we approached the fire."
In response to a Stomp query, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said that they responded to a vehicle fire at around 10.50am.
The fire involved items in the rear compartment on the lorry and was extinguished by SCDF using a fire extinguisher and a hose reel.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Stomp understands that the driver refused conveyance to a hospital after being assessed by paramedics.
